Job Description

Senior Design Engineer/Project Manager - Hybrid - some travel as and when required to our Canning Town Office - E16\n\nWe are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer to join our expanding Rail Systems Engineering team. You will be working in a part of Telent that is dedicated to maintaining the UK wide rail network. Our customers include Transport for London, Network Rail and a host of Train Operating Companies.

Reporting to the Lead System Engineer the senior engineer will be responsible for delivering project upgrade works across Transport for London and Network rail infrastructure.\n\nActing as the Senior Engineer for customer's projects, you will be responsible for undertaking all technical aspects of projects. This will include managing the production of design packages for minor and major works for new and existing system upgrades, ensuring all works are conducted to the correct standard, working with project management teams to scope for new works and production of quotations.\n\nKey Deliverables\n\nManagement of technical interface to client discipline engineer.\nManage and produce designs\nPerform reviews to verify designs are compliant to contract technical requirements.\nEnsure designs are risk assessed in accordance with CDM obligations.\nEnsure designs are fully integrated with other disciplines.\nManage and produce test documentation to validate the implemented designs.\nProvide technical support to implementation teams.\nProduce as-built documentation and associated test results.\nReport against programme to relevant Project Manager.\nDrive efficiencies in repeated work scopes through design re-use.\nImplement robust processes that aim to eliminate telent incurred re-work costs in all delivery phases.\nEnsure designers are efficiently utilised.\nProduce Resource plans for customers works\nInterface with internal and external engineering teams to ensure all works are planned and completed on time\nEffective communicator (both written and verbal)\nSupport the evolution of technical support solutions across customer estates, integrating emerging technologies to enhance service delivery\nBuild and support reference systems through FAT and on-site implementationRequired Experience\n\nStrong background in System design, integration and testing for the following technologies. \n\nStation Management Systems \nSecurity CCTV (Analogue and IP) \nCustomer Information Systems and Displays \nPublic Address, Voice Alarm and Induction Loops\nPassenger Help Points\nData Networks\nOPO/TtT CCTV System\nProven rail industry experience and leadership in engineering deliveryQualifications\n\nDegree or HNC in Engineering ()\nIndustry recognition such as Chartered Engineer status or MIET membership ()\nIRSE License\nIndustry recognition chartered, MIET etcWhat we offer\n\nA career at Telent can span sectors, roles, technologies, and customers giving you the opportunity to develop, learn new skills and make an impact.
