Tier 1 Main Contractor | Major Infrastructure Programme
A leading Tier 1 contractor is seeking an experienced Lead Design Manager to join the team on a large, technically complex data centre development based in Buckinghamshire.
This is a key leadership role on a high-value, confidential project within the rapidly expanding data centre sector. You will be responsible for driving design excellence from pre-construction through to project delivery, working alongside top-tier consultants and specialist partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design management process across all project phases
- Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams to ensure integration, compliance, and buildability
- Manage the design programme, including risk, change control, and value engineering
- Act as the main interface between client, consultants, and internal delivery teams
- Ensure all design outputs meet technical, commercial, and operational requirements
- Support procurement and contribute to technical reviews and subcontractor engagement
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience as a Lead or Senior Design Manager on large-scale construction projects
- Strong background in data centres, mission-critical, or highly serviced environments
- Experience working within a main contractor (Tier 1 preferred) xbpsjku
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to lead design teams in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
