Senior Director of Communications (Health, policy & market access)


Note: This is a global-level role and ideally the client would like to relocate the right person to Portugal / an APAC market.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead client relationships across pharmaceutical, biotech, medtech, and healthcare services accounts.
  • Develop and execute integrated communications strategies that span media relations, reputation, corporate positioning, policy engagement, and patient advocacy.
  • Provide senior counsel to C-suite executives on issues, regulatory landscapes, market access, and reputational challenges.
  • Manage a team of consultants, fostering professional development and best-in-class client delivery.
  • Lead the existing P&L across all key markets over the world.
  • Drive business growth through new business development, proposal leadership, and strengthening relationships across the healthcare ecosystem.
  • Monitor project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure efficient and profitable project delivery.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging healthcare narratives to provide proactive recommendations.


Qualifications


  • 13-15+ years of experience in healthcare communications, corporate affairs, or related fields. Ideally, in global settings and across different markets.
  • Prior consultancy/agency experience is required.
  • Strong knowledge of the global healthcare sector, including regulatory and policy dynamics.
  • Proven ability to lead complex accounts and provide counsel at senior levels.
  • Excellent writing, storytelling, and media engagement skills.
  • Track record of team leadership and business development.
  • Mature, driven and can mentor the team to success.
