Our Client is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Electrical / Electronic Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to take technical ownership of projects, lead design activities, and play a key role in delivering high-quality, fit-for-purpose solutions to our customers.

You will be responsible for the conceptual design and technical leadership of electrical and electronic systems, supporting projects from initial specification through to manufacture, testing, and customer acceptance.

The Role

As a Senior Engineer, you will:

Lead the electrical and electronic design of projects from concept through to product realisation

Generate clear and comprehensive design specifications for team members

Prepare accurate cost estimates to support quotations

Provide regular and reliable technical status updates to the Project Manager

Liaise directly with customers and internal engineers to clarify requirements and ensure compliance with specifications

Develop and review electrical drawings, wiring schedules, and electronic documentation

Design PCBs where required

Research and source specialist components

Review and sign off manufacturing drawing packs to confirm build readiness

Work closely with Manufacturing during assembly and test stages to resolve technical queries

Lead and supervise testing activities, including Factory and Site Acceptance Testing

Produce product documentation and handbooks where required

Provide technical support, guidance, and mentoring to junior engineers

Ensure designs remain compliant with current industry standards

What We're Looking For

Essential

Formal qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering

Minimum 5 years' industry experience in electrical design and implementation

Experience designing test equipment

Experience with analogue and digital interface circuit design

Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach

Ability to produce documentation that supports efficient manufacture

Excellent communication skills

Ability to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance

Desirable

18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification

Experience in Power Engineering

Experience with National Instruments hardware/software
