We are looking for a Senior Electrical Contracts Manager to lead the electrical delivery of a flagship MEP healthcare project in Plymouth, valued at £48 million.Role ResponsibilitiesProject Management: Oversee all electrical contract elements, ensuring alignment with programme goals, budgets, and milestones.Planning & Coordination: Develop detailed project plans and schedules. Collaborate closely with MEP disciplines, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.Resource Management: Allocate labour, materials, and equipment effectively to achieve project objectives.Quality Assurance: Ensure electrical installations comply with relevant standards and regulations. Conduct inspections and audits to guarantee high-quality work.Safety Compliance: Enforce robust health and safety practices, addressing risks proactively.Financial Oversight: Monitor and control expenditure, providing accurate financial and progress reports.Risk Management: Identify risks and implement effective mitigation and contingency plans.Client Relations: Act as the main client contact, delivering progress updates and ensuring satisfaction.Documentation: Maintain accurate project records, including permits, contracts, change orders, and reports.Team Leadership: Lead and mentor engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors, fostering collaboration and performance excellence.Required QualificationsExperience: Significant experience in electrical engineering and project management, with a track record of delivering large-scale MEP projects (healthcare sector experience desirable).Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of electrical systems, BS 7671 wiring regulations, and relevant codes. Proficiency in project management tools/software.Leadership: Proven ability to lead diverse teams in high-pressure project environments.Communication: Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.Problem-Solving: Excellent decision-making ability to manage complex project challenges.Attention to Detail: Rigorous focus on compliance, safety, and quality standards.Core Electrical Qualifications236 Part 1 & 2 Electrical Installation (or equivalent).18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) - essential for compliance and safety.City & Guilds 2391 - Inspection & Testing certification.JIB Gold Card (Approved Electrician status).Certifications (Preferred/Advantageous)SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) - required for site management.PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 - advantageous for structured delivery.NEC3/NEC4 Contract Training - desirable for public sector and healthcare projects.Work EnvironmentBased at the Exeter Office until December, then transitioning to the Derriford Hospital FHP1 site in Plymouth until programme completion in December 2028.Fast-paced, collaborative project environment with strong team support.Opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering a state-of-the-art healthcare facility that will positively impact the local community for generations.Why Join Us?This is a significant opportunity to lead one of the region’s most important healthcare projects.
