Jackson Hogg is delighted to be working with a well-established M&E consultancy based in Newcastle upon Tyne, for the appointment of a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their strong engineering team.
With a strong project portfolio spanning healthcare, education, commercial, residential, and public sector infrastructure, this client delivers high-quality, bespoke electrical and mechanical design solutions across the full project lifecycle.
Role Overview
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of electrical building services projects from concept through to completion. You will play a key role in ensuring technical quality, regulatory compliance, and efficient delivery of projects across the North East and beyond.
Senior Electrical Engineer – Key Responsibilities

Deliver detailed electrical designs, specifications, and reports using software such as Amtech, AutoCAD, and Dialux, in line with current UK standards and client expectations.

Oversee and manage electrical elements of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.

Conduct site surveys, inspections, and attend client/design team meetings as a key technical contact.
*
Work collaboratively with the mechanical team and wider disciplines to ensure fully coordinated M&E solutions.
*
Provide mentoring and technical support to junior engineers and technicians within the team.
*
Maintain a strong understanding of industry developments and regulatory changes to inform design decisions.
Senior Electrical Engineer – Key Requirements
*
Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline (BEng/MEng).
*
Minimum 5 years’ experience in building services consultancy, with a proven track record of delivering electrical designs in sectors such as education, healthcare, and commercial.
*
Experience with industry software tools including Amtech, AutoCAD, Dialux/Relux, and ideally Revit MEP.
*
Familiarity with current building regulations, British Standards, and CIBSE guidelines.
*
Chartered or working toward Chartered status with the IET or CIBSE is highly desirable.
*
Strong organisational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with a client-focused approach.
