Job Description
A great new opportunity to join a Water sector specialist who has been awarded tier-one framework status with South West Water. My client, a contractor with a company turnover of c£200 million, requires a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to be involved in turnkey clean water projects with values from £20 million to over £100 million. As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will be part of a team providing engineering design services to minimise client risks and maximise profits.
You will coordinate the design and produce design drawings and documents, considering specifications, standards, and health & safety requirements. As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Producing cost-effective design layouts that meet specifications and are suitable for construction and commissioning.
- Ensuring designs comply with environmental and health & safety standards.
- Writing, monitoring, and reviewing procedures and processes to develop the department.
- Supervising and developing staff.
- Coordinating designs with internal and external stakeholders.
- Providing estimates and feedback for the proposals department.
Our client seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer with:
- HND/Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience in designing process plant systems, preferably within the Water sector.
- Experience with motor control centres, including protection, motor starters (VSDs), and harmonic mitigation methods.
- Experience in selecting and specifying instrumentation, industrial communications, PLCs, and SCADA systems.
- Ability to rationalise designs and produce cost-effective plant layouts.
- City & Guilds BS7671 / 18th Edition IET Electrical Regulations qualification.
Salary/Benefits:
- £50,000 - £60,000 per annum
- Hybrid working
