Senior Electrical Estimator – Data Centres – Glasgow

Our client is a €2bn turnover, Tier:1 main contractor operating across the UK, Ireland & Europe. They undertake major, complex schemes with a particular emphasis on Data Centres, Pharmaceutical and Life Science projects
Due to continued growth in the region of their Data Centre projects division, our client is now seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to join them in Glasgow.

Responsibilities

• Lead Electrical Estimating for Mission-Critical Projects
Take a lead role in the preparation of detailed and competitive electrical estimates for complex data centre projects, covering MV/LV distribution, UPS, generators, containment, and associated systems, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client requirements.
• Tender Strategy & Commercial Input
Support the development of winning bid strategies, analysing tender documentation, identifying risks and opportunities, and contributing to value engineering solutions to enhance competitiveness while protecting margin.
• Supply Chain Engagement & Pricing
Engage with key electrical subcontractors and suppliers to obtain robust and competitive quotations, building strong relationships within the supply chain and ensuring pricing reflects current market conditions and project complexity.
• Technical Review & Cost Planning
Review drawings, specifications, and technical submissions to ensure full scope coverage, preparing detailed cost plans and take-offs while highlighting design risks, inconsistencies, and potential cost drivers.
• Bid Management & Stakeholder Coordination
Collaborate closely with bid teams, planners, and engineering leads to ensure fully coordinated submissions, supporting post-tender clarifications, client meetings, and handover to delivery teams upon successful award.

Requirements

Must have relevant degree level qualifications or equivalent trades’ background
Must have 6+ years’ experience in a similar role on large-scale construction projects (preferably Data Centres)
Must be based within a commutable distance of Glasgow

£75,000 - £85,000 + Benefits
