Senior Power Electronics Engineer

£70–80k | Newtown, Wales | Hybrid

An opportunity for an experienced Senior Power Electronics Engineer to join an advanced R&D team, developing power electronics products from concept through to manufacture for industries such as automotive and industrial automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop power electronic circuits and systems
• Lead design of critical power components for new products
• Use SPICE simulation to support design decisions
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on drive and system architecture
• Research and apply emerging power electronics technologies

Essential Skills & Experience

• MEng / MSc in Power Electronics or related discipline
• 5+ years’ experience in a commercial engineering environment
• Strong knowledge of SMPS, thermal design, DFM, mechanics, and PCB layout
• Experience with analogue and digital circuit design

Desirable

• Chartered Engineer status
• Prototype build, bench testing, and system experimentation
• Thermal, mechanical, or EMC experience for motor drives
