Are you an experienced Engineer looking for a new challenge within a dynamic and forward-thinking local authority? West Berkshire Council are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Engineer to work within our busy Asset Management team.
Reporting to the Principal Engineer, you will contribute to the delivery of asset management activities withinthe Environment service with specific responsibility for Highway Structures.
The Role / Ideal Candidate
Our Highway Structures Team are looking for highly motivated and technically strong Senior Engineer to be involved in the delivery of challenging bridge design and maintenance schemes. We have a great team environment, and we support and develop our engineers, so they are continuously developing their skills.
Working in the Highway Structures Team, you will take autonomy of your own work and be responsible for all aspects of the project whether this is a bridge assessment, maintenance, strengthening or replacement scheme. You should have a thorough understanding of structural behaviour and the application of relevant design and assessment standards. Knowledge of construction methods and contract procedures would be an advantage.
