Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Estimator to join a well-established, privately owned residential groundworks and civil engineering contractor. With a strong pipeline of projects and ambitious growth plans, this is an exciting opportunity to become part of a business that values its people and offers long-term career prospects.\n\nThe Role\n\nYou will work as part of a collaborative and experienced team, preparing competitive tenders for a wide range of roads, sewers, drainage, and groundworks packages on major housing developments. \n\nKey Responsibilities: \n\n· Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for a range of civil engineering and groundworks packages on major housing developments.\n\n· Analyse tender documents, drawings, and specifications to understand project scope.\n\n· Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and build cost databases.\n\n· Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure estimates reflect practical delivery methods.\n\n· Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings as required.\n\n· Maintain and update estimating tools and systems.\n\nWhat you'll need to succeed:\n\n· Proven experience in estimating within the civil engineering or residential groundworks sector\n\n· Strong understanding of construction methods and pricing\n\n· Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (not essential)\n\n· Excellent numerical and analytical skills\n\n· Ability to work independently and as part of a team\n\n· Strong communication and negotiation skills\n\n· A proactive, driven, and ambitious mindset - keen to grow with the business\n\nWhy Join?\n\n· Competitive salary and package, dependent on experience\n\n· Work with a respected company that values people and teamwork\n\n· Be part of a growing business with excellent career development opportunities\n\n· Varied and exciting residential groundworks projects across the region\n\n· Supportive and collaborative working environment\n\nPlease contact John Ashcroft for more information (phone number removed)\n\nAbout Us\n\nWe are dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive community.
