Senior Estimator\n\nOpportunity to Establish and Lead an Estimating Department\n\nAn established and well-respected construction contractor with a long-standing reputation for quality, collaboration and staff retention is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to take ownership of its estimating function.\n\nThis is a rare opportunity for a Senior Estimator to move beyond pricing tenders and play a strategic role in shaping a formal estimating department from the ground up. The successful Senior Estimator will be responsible not only for delivering high-quality tenders, but for implementing structure, process and long-term commercial strategy\n\nThe Senior Estimator Role and Responsibilities\n\nThis Senior Estimator position combines hands-on tendering with departmental leadership, leading on refurbishment and maintenance projects for both public and private clients.\n\nEstablish and formalise the estimating function within the business\nDesign and implement structured estimating systems and processes\nIntroduce improved tools, methodologies and data-driven practices\nBuild scalable procedures to support business growth\nPrepare accurate cost estimates and competitive tender submissions\nAnalyse drawings, specifications and contract documentation\nIdentify commercial risks and value engineering opportunities\nWork closely with operational teams to ensure buildability and programme awareness\nLiaise with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing\nImprove tender win rates and margin performance\nBenchmark estimating performance and drive continuous improvement\nSupport directors in identifying new markets, frameworks and opportunities\nContribute commercially to overall business growthExperience/ Skills of the Senior Estimator\n\nStrong background in construction estimating\nRelevant degree or Qualifications, e.g. Engineering, Quantity Surveying\nExperience pricing refurbishment, public sector or mixed-use schemes desirable\nConfident using estimating software and digital tools\nStrong understanding of construction methods and complianceWhat's on Offer\n\nSalary: £70,000 - £85,000\n\nOpportunity to build and lead a formal estimating department\nClear pathway into senior management\nDirect influence over tendering strategy and commercial performance\nLong-term career development within a stable, reputable contractor\nSupportive and collaborative working culture within the business.If you are a Senior Estimator, considering your career opportunities, please contact Megan Cole at Brandon James, \n\nREF: 21304MC
