Job title: Senior Estimator Start date: ASAP Duration: Permanent Location: London Hours of work: Mon to Fri - 37.5 hours per week Salary: Competitive + car allowance
Purpose: To produce accurate, competitive, and compliant cost estimates that support successful tender submissions, in line with the client's governance and quality procedures.
Key Accountabilities
Ensure all company governance and approval processes are followed. Work with the Bid Manager to develop competitive, value-driven pricing strategies. Agree methodologies and outputs with the Planner, Design Manager, and Bid Team. Advise on cost-effective design solutions and prepare alternative pricing options. Check and validate client quantities; arrange take-offs as required. Build up estimates covering labour, plant, materials, subcontractors, preliminaries, and risk. Develop local labour and plant rates, ensuring compliance with relevant wage and working time regulations. Liaise with Procurement to obtain, review, and select compliant supplier and subcontractor quotations. Coordinate temporary works pricing with technical and planning teams. Determine staff requirements, programmes, and costs in consultation with Bid and Operations Leads. Identify and assess risk and opportunity items for inclusion in the tender.
