Senior Financial Accountant

Job Summary This role will be responsible for all financial accounting, and particularly the Balance Sheet. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified experienced accountant looking to get a broad exposure to accounting and financial management of a growing international SME business. Key Duties
Own the company balance sheet, including all reconciliations and oversight of balance sheet activity across other entities. Prepare monthly balance sheet consolidations and lead the year‑end group consolidation process for financial statement preparation. Complete monthly intercompany reconciliations and build and maintain the monthly intercompany matrix. Review and submit VAT returns for multiple entities. Manage and work closely with the Billings & Collections Specialist to ensure accurate invoicing and effective cash collection, ensuring structure, process adherence, and timely completion of monthly deadlines. Provide month‑end support – incl. depreciation processing, oversee recharges to hubs, oversee all bank, credit card reconciliations and all revaluations. Oversee sales ledger reviews, including aged debtors and the QUK Membership reconciliation. Assist with the management of the purchase ledger, including routine aged creditors reconciliation, maintaining strong supplier relationships, and overseeing the Accounts Payable inbox. Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard the Group’s financial assets, and coordinate with independent auditors to ensure full compliance. Strengthen financial systems and processes to ensure they are robust, compliant, and scalable for future growth. Lead the year‑end timetable and associated processes. Work closely with business operations on a regular basis. Liaise with auditors and provide required information and analysis. Support the Group CFO and wider team as required, collaborating closely with global accounting teams and external accountants. Perform other ad hoc duties as required.
Skills & Knowledge Sought
Qualified ACCA/CIMA with post‑qualification experience. Proven leadership and team motivation / coaching skills. Excellent written & oral communication. Excellent attention to detail. Outstanding numerical skills. Knowledge of SAGE accounting software. Strong Excel skills. Knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Strong interpersonal skills and a ‘can do’ attitude. Discretion and sensitivity. Thrives in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment. Sense of humour!
Hours of Work Contractual hours are from 09:00 to 17:30 Monday – Friday. However, it may be the case that to fulfill the duties of the role, different or additional hours may be necessary. #J-18808-Ljbffr
