Role Overview
We are currently seeking a Senior Fire Engineering professional to join our expanding National Programmes team to cover the south of the UK.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary team of consultants who pride themselves on providing outstanding property guidance and advice, to a range of clients within both the public and private sectors.
We provide a wide range of consultancy Fire Safety services to our clients including:
- Fire Engineering Services
- Fire Compartmentation Surveys
- Fire Quality Monitoring
- Fire Risk Assessments
- Building Safety Management/Building Safety Act Management
- Developing Building Safety cases
Role Responsibilities
- To carry out assigned duties efficiently and in accordance with processes and procedures
- Comply with established procurement/commercial/contractual strategies
- To ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards
- To ensure business objectives of delivering value for money in all circumstances
- Fire Safety Management/Fire strategy involvement
- To undertake fire risk assessments across a variety of property types ranging from residential, healthcare, custodial, education and commercial
- To undertake fire integrity/compartmentation surveys to identify breaches, proposed remedial repairs through to preparation of specification and design
- To provide quality and technical monitoring on construction projects
- To provide fire safety advisor role to assist our clients with their property portfolio
- Ideally have good knowledge of Approved Document B, Health Technical Memorandum 05-02, Building Bulletins, relevant British Standards
- To review contractors’ proposals on construction projects and provide comment on suitability for the intended purpose
- Project Management (not essential)
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive approach to the role, and will be delivering excellent customer service with good commercial results. They will be passionate about fire safety and will strive to provide the upmost quality on every commission.
Qualifications
- Level 5 minimum qualification achieved in Fire Discipline
- Membership of IFE / IFSM or equivalent
- Robust knowledge of UK fire safety legislation
- Strong technical delivery experience
- Ability to successfully direct and manage complex projects in a proactive and diligent manner
- Track record in successful line management and development of team members
- Experience with developing new long-term relationships and securing new business
- Client facing, ensuring high standards of technical delivery
- Experience of prioritising workloads and delivering deadlines
- Recognised as a client focused, positive collaborator who shares knowledge freely and offers support to their peers and seniors. Recognised as a team player with a strong willingness to learn
- Demonstrates a positive and proactive approach to the role, and will be committed to delivering customer service excellence, with good commercial results
