Senior Embedded Software Engineer – Cellular / DSP Bedfordshire | Hybrid This is an engineering team where decisions aren’t pushed up the chain — they’re made by the people doing the work. You’ll be working on live wireless systems, taking real cellular signals and making them usable in unpredictable environments. Not simulations. Not ideal conditions. Real-world RF problems that need solving properly. The Role You’ll operate across the embedded stack, with the freedom to approach problems properly — not within rigid boundaries: * Embedded C firmware development * Cellular protocol layers (MAC / RLC) * DSP implementation where needed * Integration with RF hardware, DSPs and FPGA platforms You won’t be siloed. You’ll work directly with RF, hardware, FPGA and DSP engineers to solve system-level challenges. The Environment A ~20-person engineering team spanning RF, DSP, FPGA, hardware and software. Why This Role * Engineers influence technical direction, not just delivery * Work on real-world wireless systems, not controlled environments * Broad exposure across embedded, DSP, RF and system integration * Employee-owned structure — you have a real stake in the business What Matters * Strong Embedded C experience * Exposure to cellular systems (ideally MAC / RLC or similar layers) * Experience working close to hardware / performance-critical systems * Comfortable operating with autonomy and accountability * DSP implementation experience is highly beneficial Package * £75,000 – £85,000 base * ~15% profit-related bonus * 7% non-contributory pension * Hybrid working (typically 3 days onsite) If you prefer environments where everything is defined for you — this probably isn’t the right fit.
