Senior Front Office Software Engineer – Python - Commodities Trading

Orbis are partnering with a global Energy Trading firm on the build out of a new greenfield trading desk. As part of this exciting new development, they’re looking for the first Senior Front Office Python Developer to join the team.

This is an incredible opportunity to have a direct impact on PnL working work with an organisation at the intersection of data, technology, and trading, alongside an exceptionally high-performing team of technologists.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Partnering directly with Energy Traders to build new tools and systems written in high-performance code, having an direct impact on PnL
• Designing and developing solutions to manage trading positions, and support the models that drive Front Office decision-making
• Designing cloud-native tools integrating with the Front Office platforms to provide enhanced analytics and tooling for Traders and Front Office teams

To be a successful applicant, you will need:

• Exceptional programming capability in Python (including pandas) with a deep understanding of Object Oriented Programming and Computer Science fundamentals
• Previous experience working in a top-tier engineering environment - big tech, high-frequency trading, hedge funds or similarly elite technical setting
• Strong experience with Containerisation technologies (e.g. Kubernetes or Docker)
