Senior HR Advisor Salary: Up to £40,000Location: Office-based 4 days per week / 1 day working from homeHours: Flexible working hours availableIndustry: ManufacturingWe are seeking an experienced Senior HR Advisor to join a fast-paced manufacturing business. This role is ideal for a confident HR professional who is fully competent in Employee Relations, investigations, and grievance handling. You will act as a trusted advisor to managers, supporting them with day-to-day HR queries, complex casework, and HR initiatives that contribute to a positive and productive workforce.This is a hands-on role within a busy operational environment, requiring strong communication skills, excellent judgement, and the ability to influence at all levels.Key Responsibilities Employee Relations (ER) Lead on complex ER cases including disciplinaries, grievances, performance management, and absence management.Provide managers with clear, practical, and legally compliant HR advice.Oversee investigations, prepare documentation, and ensure fair and consistent processes.Support mediation, conflict resolution, and return-to-work procedures.Liaise with external advisors where required. HR Operations Support HR policy reviews and ensure they remain compliant and up to date.Coach and develop line managers to build stronger HR capability across the business.Provide guidance on workforce planning, recruitment requests, and onboarding.Maintain accurate HR documentation, ensuring compliance with employment legislation.Analyse HR metrics such as absence, performance trends, turnover, and employee engagement. Organisational Support Build strong relationships across manufacturing, production, and engineering teams.Support with change management processes, restructures, and business improvements.Contribute to employee engagement activities, communication improvements, and culture-building initiatives. General HR Support Act as a first point of contact for HR queries across the site.Prepare reports and dashboards for senior leadership.Ensure best practice in all people-related processes.Provide support on payroll queries or data when required. Requirements Essential CIPD Level 5 qualified (minimum requirement).Strong experience handling ER casework including grievances, disciplinaries, and investigations.Experience working in a fast-paced or operational environment (manufacturing preferred but not essential).Excellent knowledge of UK employment law.Confident, approachable, and able to build credibility quickly.Ability to manage competing priorities and handle sensitive situations with confidentiality.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Excellent organisational and time-management skills.Proficient in HR systems and Microsoft Office.
