Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Commodities Trading - Up to £90k + Bonus


Step into the technology engine room of a major European commodities trading firm, where technology sits right at the heart of operations.


Operating across global energy markets, the business has 50–75 technologists across infrastructure, development, data and applications, supporting a highly sophisticated trading environment. Infrastructure here isn’t just keeping the lights on - it enables the traders, analysts and operations teams who depend on fast, resilient systems every day.


It’s also an exciting time to join. A new Head of Infrastructure has recently joined and is investing heavily in reshaping the team and modernising the platform. You’ll play a key role in that journey, contributing to both engineering projects and operational improvements as the environment evolves.


This is a hands-on role with real variety, working across mixed (Windows & Linux) and hybrid infrastructure spanning on-prem data centres and Azure. Key areas include:

  • Infrastructure modernisation and automation
  • Improving resilience, performance and security
  • Supporting critical systems underpinning a global trading operation


You’ll gain exposure across a broad technology estate including:

  • Windows & Linux infrastructure (approx. 85/15 – Red Hat preferred)
  • Azure cloud services
  • Virtualisation (VMware / VDI)
  • Cisco networking & firewalls
  • Microsoft 365
  • Automation & Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform / Kubernetes exposure)


The team is collaborative, growing and technically strong, so you’ll need to enjoy rolling up your sleeves, solving problems and taking real ownership of systems end-to-end.


Engineers from financial services, commodities trading, or complex enterprise environments would be particularly well suited.
