Senior Legal Counsel – Privacy (Marketplace) | Contract

Location: (Hybrid/Remote) | CET hours

We’re working with a leading global tech platform to hire a Senior Legal Counsel – Privacy to support their Marketplace business- the team behind their core consumer-facing products, including apps, personalization and AI-driven features.

This is a high-impact role, embedded within a central Privacy team, advising on how personal data is used across product innovation.


The Role:

You’ll act as the lead privacy counsel for Marketplace products, supporting product, tech and business teams on:

  • Privacy reviews of new features (personalisation, AI, loyalty programmes)
  • Developing scalable legal frameworks across product initiatives
  • Advising on GDPR legal bases (consent, legitimate interests, contract)
  • Supporting consent strategy, tracking technologies and transparency requirements
  • Assessing use of special category data
  • Partnering closely with stakeholders in a fast-paced, product-led environment


What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ PQE in privacy/data protection (in-house or private practice)
  • Strong experience advising on consumer-facing tech / product environments
  • Solid understanding of GDPR, ePrivacy, DSA and emerging AI regulation
  • Experience with product counselling and data-driven environments
  • Ability to operate autonomously and deliver practical, commercial advice
  • CIPP/E or similar certification preferred
