Job Description

Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Aircraft Assembly & Systems Integration)

✈️ About the Opportunity

We are supporting an advanced aerospace programme entering a critical phase of live prototype aircraft build, assembly, and transition toward pre-production.

This role is ideally suited to an experienced aerospace manufacturing engineer with a strong background in aircraft assembly, systems installation, and shop-floor manufacturing support.

You will work closely with design, production and test teams to ensure complex aircraft systems — including EWIS — are successfully integrated, assembled and commissioned.

While the role offers hybrid working, it remains closely connected to aircraft build activity and manufacturing operations, requiring regular collaboration with engineering and production teams.

If you enjoy solving real aircraft build challenges and supporting the transition from prototype to production, this opportunity places you at the centre of an exciting aerospace program.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting aircraft assembly and systems installation activities within the manufacturing environment
  • Developing and maintaining manufacturing process plans and build instructions for complex aircraft systems
  • Working with production and engineering teams to resolve assembly and integration challenges
  • Ensuring manufacturing processes align with aircraft design intent and system-level requirements
  • Creating and managing planning and commissioning cards from engineering design data
  • Supporting EWIS and aircraft systems integration within the aircraft build programme
  • Providing manufacturing engineering support to maintain build progress and resolve technical issues
  • Leading and contributing to concession activity, root cause investigations, and corrective actions
  • Supporting aircraft and manufacturing facility commissioning activities
  • Helping prepare manufacturing processes for the transition from prototype to production

What You’ll Bring

  • Extensive aerospace manufacturing engineering experience
  • Strong background supporting aircraft assembly, systems installation, or structural build
  • Experience working within aircraft manufacturing or final assembly environments
  • Solid understanding of aircraft manufacturing processes and production engineering principles
  • Proven experience developing manufacturing process plans, work instructions, and build documentation
  • Ability to translate engineering design data into production-ready manufacturing plans
  • Experience supporting concession activity, non-conformances and structured problem solving
  • Technical signatory capability (or equivalent authority within manufacturing engineering)
  • Strong IT and digital engineering tool experience
  • Experience with CATIA and DELMIA / 3DEXPERIENCE (desirable)

The Environment

This role supports a highly collaborative aerospace engineering environment, working across design, manufacturing, and production teams.

You will be:

  • Contributing to live aircraft and systems development programmes
  • Supporting manufacturing engineering activities linked to aircraft build
  • Collaborating closely with production and engineering teams
  • Helping the programme transition from prototype development toward production readiness

The programme operates at pace and requires engineers with strong aerospace manufacturing knowledge and a practical understanding of aircraft assembly environments.
