About the role
The Senior Marketing & Communications Officer will lead the planning and coordination of campaigns and content that promote KC&E’s services, engage student audiences, and increase awareness of opportunities available to them.
Working across a range of channels, including social media, web and email, you will develop and deliver engaging, audience‑focused marketing and communications that encourage students to connect with KC&E activities and resources. You will work closely with colleagues across the department and the wider university to ensure activity is joined‑up, timely and impactful, and reflects the needs and experiences of our diverse student community.
Collaboration is a key part of the role; you will build strong working relationships with teams across KC&E, KCLSU and central services to support major campaigns and initiatives throughout the year. You will also use data and insight to continuously improve how we reach and engage students.
The role includes providing day‑to‑day direction and support to a Marketing & Communications Assistant, contributing to recruitment, onboarding and ongoing development to ensure a high standard of delivery across the team.

Relevant educational experiences might include higher education in a related discipline, professional qualifications or other training.

This is a full time post (35 hours per week) and you will be offered an indefinite contract.
About You
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
Experience of developing and delivering marketing and communications plans aligned to organisational priorities
Proven ability to build effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, collaborating and influencing to deliver shared outcomes
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate activity across teams, and respond to competing requests
Experience of developing and delivering innovative marketing and communications content and campaigns across multiple channels (e.g. social media, web, email)
Ability to provide clear guidance and support to colleagues or junior staff, enabling those with varying levels of experience to contribute effectively to communications activity
Experience of using data, analytics and insight to evaluate performance, inform decision‑making and optimise future delivery
Ability to take ownership of work while maintaining clear and proactive communication with colleagues and stakeholders
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment, responding positively to changing priorities and multiple demands
Desirable criteria
Experience in higher education or student engagement
Experience working with student ambassadors or peer‑led activity
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Premiere Pro and Photoshop)
Audio and video editing skills
