About the Company
Our client is a leading Building Services consultancy recognised for delivering innovative and sustainable MEP solutions across commercial, residential, education, healthcare, and large‑scale mixed‑use projects. Following continued growth and new project wins, they are now seeking a talented Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their expanding team.
The Role
You will lead the mechanical design delivery across a wide range of projects, taking responsibility for concept, detailed design, and technical coordination. This position involves working closely with clients, contractors, and internal design teams, while supporting and developing junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the mechanical design of HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation, public health, and sustainable building systems Prepare detailed engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, and tender documentation Use industry-standard design software (e.g., Hevacomp, IES, Revit MEP) to develop efficient, compliant design solutions Conduct site inspections, surveys, and technical reviews during project delivery Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate MEP designs Ensure compliance with UK building regulations, British Standards, and CIBSE guidelines Oversee and mentor graduate and intermediate engineers, supporting their technical development Represent the company in client, project, and design-team meetings
About You
Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent experience) 6–8+ years' experience within a Building Services consultancy Strong understanding of mechanical services design, sustainability principles, and UK regulations Proficient in Hevacomp, IES, and Revit ( but not essential) Chartered or working toward Chartership (CIBSE/IMechE) is highly desirable Excellent communicator with strong client-facing experience Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with minimal supervision
