Job Description

For contractors, we offer a stable position outside IR35 in a positive and well-motivated team.\n\nRole Purpose: Manage Quality and Technical Aspects of Mechanical Engineering Designs\n\nRole Profile:\n\n * Provide design deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements.\n\n * Produce design calculations and drawings for the water industry.\n\n * Direct and develop CAD technicians and more junior designers and\n graduates.\n\n * Direct, prepare scopes for and check output of subcontract M&E design teams\n\n * Liaise with equipment suppliers and manufacturers\n\n * Prepare design investigations, reports and specifications.\n\n * Design in compliance with relevant technical, professional and group standards.\n\n * Ensure project change for design package is fully implemented and recorded.\n\n * Estimate hours required for design packages\n\n * Present and attend at meetings and design presentations\n\nWhat we require from you:\n\n * 5-10 years’ mechanical design experience in the UK water industry\n\n * significant experience in hydraulic design\n\n * Awareness of electrical design and control systems.\n\n * Good level of IT skills\n\n * Registered with professional body and working towards chartership\n\nPreferred Qualifications and Experience:\n\n * Chartered engineer\n\n * Experience in electrical and/or control engineering\n\n * Experience in UMON schemes\n\n * Experience in wastewater and clean water, infra and non-infra\n\n * Awareness of construction methods and materials.\n\n * Knowledge of engineering drawing practices.\n\nWhat we can offer you:\n\nWe offer an excellent package for permanent staff, including an employee benefits scheme, workplace pension scheme, and training and development opportunities.\n\nFor contractors, we offer a stable position outside IR35 in a positive and well-motivated team.\n\nOur offices have free parking, as well as a free-to-use fully equipped Gym, showers and changing rooms.
