Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Water & Wastewater Infrastructure\n\nAre you a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with proven UK water/wastewater experience? Join a growing multidisciplinary team delivering treatment and network infrastructure projects across the South.\n\nThe Role\n\nYou'll lead mechanical design delivery from feasibility and outline design through to detailed design and construction/commissioning support. You'll own design packages, review technical outputs and coach engineers to ensure safe, compliant, buildable solutions.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLead mechanical design for treatment plants, pumping stations, pipelines and associated assets\n\nProduce/review calculations, specifications, schedules and technical documentation\n\nReview and approve work from engineers and CAD designers\n\nDevelop solutions for pumps, pipework, valves, rotating equipment and process plant\n\nCoordinate with civil, process and EICA teams to deliver integrated designs\n\nLead/support client meetings, design reviews and technical workshops\n\nEnsure compliance with BS EN, WIMES, DSEAR, Eurocodes and relevant UK regulations\n\nSupport site visits, inspections and commissioning across the South (occasional nationwide travel)\n\nMentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement within the mechanical discipline\n\nAbout You\n\n7+ years' mechanical design experience in UK water/wastewater projects\n\nDegree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar); CEng or working towards desirable\n\nStrong knowledge of mechanical systems used in treatment and network infrastructure\n\nConfident using AutoCAD and mechanical design/modelling tools (Revit advantageous)\n\nSolid understanding of H&S and regulatory compliance in a regulated environment\n\nAble to manage workload, prioritise and deliver design packages to time/cost/quality\n\nClear communicator, comfortable presenting and defending design decisions\n\nWorking Pattern\n\nA mix of office-based, hybrid and site work with travel across the South of England and occasional nationwide projects.\n\nWhat's on Offer\n\nSalary up to £75,000 depending on experience\n\n25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays\n\nPension scheme\n\nDiscretionary bonus\n\nPrivate healthcare\n\nDeath in Service benefit\n\nHybrid working\n\nApply\n\nIf you're a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer looking to lead high-impact water infrastructure projects, we'd welcome your application
