Overview
We are working with a leading global consultancy delivering sustainable design, engineering and advisory solutions across the built and natural environment. With a strong international presence and a focus on improving quality of life, they are looking to appoint a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their established Design team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile, technically challenging projects across sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and data centres.
The Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering innovative and efficient mechanical building services solutions. You will take ownership of project elements while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure fully integrated designs.
You will also contribute to client engagement, technical delivery, and team leadership, helping to drive quality and consistency across projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the mechanical design on projects or packages of larger schemes
Deliver projects in line with financial, quality and programme targets
Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure coordinated design solutions
Produce and review detailed technical designs and specifications
Support and contribute to technical proposals and bids
Present design solutions and attend client meetings
Manage and mentor junior engineers and technicians (typically teams of up to 5)
Undertake design reviews and ensure compliance with relevant standards
Requirements
Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar (BEng/BSc or MEng/MSc)
Chartered Engineer (CEng) status
Proven experience within a building services consultancy environment
Strong technical knowledge across mechanical building services systems
Ability to contribute to broader building services design (including awareness of electrical systems)
Experience leading projects or design packages
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
