Senior Mechanical Fitter
Birmingham
Some engineers design machines.
Some maintain them.
This role is for the people who build them
We’re working with a well-established UK engineering business that designs and builds its own production machinery used across multiple global sites. They’re looking for a Senior Mechanical Fitter to join a small, highly capable machine build team responsible for turning detailed engineering drawings into real-world production equipment.
You’ll be assembling complex mechanical systems, presses, rolling equipment, drive systems, bearings, gearboxes and fabricated structures, taking machines from individual components through to complete production lines.
What they’re looking for
• Strong mechanical fitting / machine build background
• Ability to work from engineering drawings and assemble precision components
• Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
• Comfortable using manual workshop equipment when needed
• Someone who takes genuine pride in building machinery properly
There’s occasional international travel, a varied build environment, and the chance to work on equipment that ends up operating around the world.
