Senior Partner Account Manager
New Today
Embedded Services is Sage’s newest venture, helping third‑party platform embed accounting and payroll technology into their products. This greenfield business development role defines a completely new go‑to‑market motion inside Sage. You’ll help launch a disruptive embedded accounting offering that puts accounting and payroll capabilities directly into the products small businesses use every day. There’s no playbook.
We are looking for a commercially sharp and relationship‑driven Account Manager to own the revenue and commercial health of our embedded services partnerships with leading banks, fintechs, and vertical SaaS platforms.
Hybrid schedule — work from the office three days a week.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Ownership & Revenue Management
Own the commercial lifecycle for assigned embedded partners: renewals, pricing reviews, contract amendments, and upsell execution.
Monitor revenue performance against contracted terms, identifying gaps between contractual commitments and actual partner‑driven outcomes.
Lead structured commercial reviews with partners on a regular cadence, presenting performance data and articulating value delivered.
Flag and upscale commercial risks early, including underperformance against activation or usage commitments.
Partner Relationship Management
Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior commercial, finance, and legal stakeholders across partner organisations.
Act as the commercial point of escalation for partners, resolving disputes, renegotiations, and contractual ambiguities with speed and professionalism.
Represent Sage's commercial interests while maintaining a partner‑first framing positioning discussions around mutual value creation rather than contractual enforcement.
Growth & Expansion
Proactively identify expansion opportunities within existing partnerships including additional product modules, new geographies, or deeper distribution commitments.
Build the commercial case for upsell initiatives, working with the team to ensure partners are operationally ready before expansion discussions are opened.
Support the Sales team on new business opportunities where existing partner relationships create leverage or reference value.
Commercial Governance & Reporting
Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of partner commercial terms, usage data, billing arrangements, and revenue forecasts.
Contribute to internal commercial governance processes, flagging structural issues in partner billing, pricing models, or contractual definitions that require escalation.
Provide regular commercial reporting to the Product Strategy Director and broader leadership, including revenue forecasts, renewal timelines, and expansion pipeline.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Work closely with the team to maintain a joined‑up view of partner health ensuring that operational or technical issues with commercial implications are surfaced promptly.
Partner with Finance and Legal on contract execution, billing infrastructure, and compliance.
Feed commercial insights from partners back to Product and Strategy teams to inform roadmap prioritisation and pricing model evolution.
Required Attributes, Skills & Qualifications
Experience in Partner Account Management, Commercial Partnerships, or Revenue Management, with direct experience managing large enterprise or institutional accounts.
Proven ability to lead complex commercial negotiations and renegotiations with senior stakeholders at large financial institutions or technology companies.
Data‑driven: comfortable using performance and revenue data to drive commercial conversations, identify risks, and build business cases for expansion.
Strong ability to work within a multi‑role partnership and across internal functions (Finance, Legal, Product), without creating siloes or duplicating effort.
Self‑starter: proactive, structured, and effective in fast‑moving environments where commercial frameworks are still being built.
