Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Planner to support a major programme of works at AWE Burghfield. This is a key role within a high-value, complex project operating in a secure and highly regulated environment. The successful candidate will provide expert planning and scheduling support, working closely with project controls, construction, engineering, and commissioning teams to ensure programme certainty and effective delivery. Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project programmes using Primavera P6 (P6e preferred). Integrate schedules across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities. Monitor progress, identify critical path impacts, and provide mitigation strategies. Produce lookahead schedules, progress reports, and planning dashboards. Support change control, delay analysis, and programme impact assessments. Work closely with project managers, construction managers, and commissioning teams to ensure accurate planning inputs. Attend site meetings and planning workshops, providing clear and concise programme advice. Ensure alignment with project controls processes, governance, and reporting requirements. Maintain high standards of accuracy, auditability, and compliance within a regulated environment.

Proven experience as a Senior Planner on large, complex infrastructure or engineering projects. Strong Primavera P6 experience essential (P6e highly desirable). Experience working in highly regulated environments such as nuclear, defence, pharmaceutical, or similar. Excellent understanding of critical path analysis, schedule logic, and progress measurement. Ability to work full‑time on site and engage effectively with multi‑disciplinary teams. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Relevant qualification in engineering, construction management, or project controls advantageous. Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance.
