Job Title: Senior Town Planner Location: Leeds Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading multidisciplinary consultancy in their search for a Senior Town Planner to join their team in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Planner to take the next step in their career, working across a diverse portfolio of projects including residential, commercial, rural, and infrastructure developments. The successful candidate will play a key role in project delivery while contributing to the continued growth of the team. THE ROLE As a Senior Town Planner, you will take responsibility for managing a range of planning projects from initial concept through to determination. You will lead on client interactions, provide strategic planning advice, and support junior team members, all while working within a collaborative and dynamic environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Leading and managing planning applications and projects * Providing strategic planning advice to clients * Preparing high-quality planning reports and documentation * Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact * Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and key stakeholders * Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team * Contributing to business development and identifying new opportunities * Attending meetings, site visits, and consultations WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR * RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or related discipline * MRTPI qualified * Significant experience within a planning consultancy or similar environment * Strong knowledge of the UK planning system * Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills * Proven ability to manage projects and client relationships * Commercial awareness and a proactive approach WHAT'S ON OFFER * Competitive salary and benefits package * Opportunity to work on a wide-ranging and interesting project portfolio * Supportive and collaborative team environment * Clear career progression opportunities * Ongoing professional development
