Job Title: Senior Town Planner Location: London Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a highly regarded planning consultancy in their search for a Senior Town Planner to join their established team in London. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planner to join a respected consultancy known for delivering high-quality planning advice across a wide range of high-profile projects. The successful Senior Town Planner will gain exposure to complex and prestigious developments across sectors including residential, commercial, retail, and mixed-use. The Role As a Senior Town Planner, you will take a leading role in the delivery of planning projects, managing applications and providing strategic advice to clients. You will work closely with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams, guiding projects from early-stage feasibility through to determination, while also supporting and mentoring junior team members. Key Responsibilities Managing a range of planning applications and appeals Providing strategic planning advice to clients Leading on site appraisals and development feasibility assessments Preparing high-quality planning statements and supporting documentation Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and key stakeholders Managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team Candidate Requirements RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or a related discipline Chartered Member of the RTPI Strong experience within a planning consultancy or similar environment Excellent knowledge of UK planning policy and legislation Strong report writing and project management skills Excellent communication and client-facing abilities Commercial awareness and a proactive approach What's on Offer Competitive salary and benefits package Hybrid working arrangements Opportunity to work on high-profile and complex planning projects Supportive and collaborative team environment Excellent professional development and career progression opportunities
