Senior Planning Engineer

I am looking for a Senior Planning Engineer for ongoing construction work within the mission critical industry.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, develop, and mentor the planning and project controls team, fostering a high-performance culture.
Identify resource requirements and support recruitment, training, and onboarding activities.
Coach and guide junior and mid-level planners, supporting their long-term professional development.
Oversee the preparation, quality, and governance of all planning and project controls deliverables.
Provide assurance through structured reviews and audits across programmes, dashboards, and reporting outputs.
Maintain robust governance, traceability, and quality across all programme-related processes.
Drive continuous improvement by developing and implementing enhanced planning methodologies and tools.
Oversee project progress measurement systems, including KPIs, milestones, and trend analysis.
Manage supply chain programme submissions, including review and acceptance processes.
Ensure integration across design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
Lead change management assessments and provide guidance on extension of time (EOT) matters where required.
Develop tender programmes and method statements during bid stages.
Provide planning insight to support prequalification processes and strategic decision-making.
Analyse time-related preliminaries and collaborate with commercial teams to support project delivery.

Skills & Experience

Advanced expertise in planning tools including Asta Powerproject, Primavera P6, MS Project, and project controls systems.
Strong ability to analyse programme logic, delays, and progress trends.
Proven leadership, communication, and coaching skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Comprehensive knowledge of construction sectors, contracts, risk management, and performance measurement techniques.
A proactive, professional, and detail-oriented approach, with the ability to balance strategic oversight and operational detail.
