Service Care Legal are recruiting on behalf of a London-based local authority who are seeking a Senior Planning Solicitor on a temporary basis. please find below further details abou this role.

ROLE: Senior Planning Solicitor
RATE: £55–£60 per hour (Umbrella) / £52.81ph PAYE inc. holiday pay / £47.12ph PAYE exc. holiday pay
LOCATION: West London (Hybrid - 2 days pw in office)
CONTRACT: 3 months with possibility of extension, 36 hours per week

Key Duties
Advise on major planning applications and urban regeneration projects
Provide legal advice on CPOs, appropriation, and property matters
Draft and negotiate complex planning and highways agreements (including s106)
Attend and advise at Planning Committee and Licensing hearings
Manage high-profile matters including appeals, public inquiries, and judicial reviews
Support senior leadership and advise on legal risk and Monitoring Officer duties
Instruct Counsel and external solicitors as requiredRequirements
Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEX (England & Wales)
Strong local authority experience in Planning and Regeneration law
Proven ability to handle complex, high-value matters independently
