Senior Principal Civil Engineer – Hydropower and Dams

Opportunity

Help shape the future of hydropower and dams while working on leading, innovative projects such as Coire Glas, Koysha, and Dinorwig. Based in any UK office, you will support multidisciplinary teams and UK water companies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project managers, technical leaders, design engineers and clients to achieve positive project outcomes.
  • Engage in traditional advisory roles, Owner’s Engineer duties, client‑facing concept design, contractor‑facing detailed design, remediation, troubleshooting, installation support, and lender/insurance due diligence support.

About You

  • Senior Principal Civil Engineer, ideally Chartered or Incorporated with the ICE or in progress, with experience in civil design of dams or dam components, hydro and/or pumped storage schemes, or complex hydraulic structures (channels, culverts, bridges, spillways, stilling basin).
  • Demonstrated civil engineering experience and skills in the dams and hydro sector, or aligned water and energy sector experience.
  • Experience producing technical specifications, designs, and reports, integrating with structures, geotechnical, and M&E, and preparing designs for end‑user clients and D&B contractors.
  • Comfortable working in a full 3D environment and a common data environment.
