Overview

Our Water Management Consultancy team leads resilient and sustainable water supply solutions, supporting the delivery of Water Resource Management Plans, Drought Plans and Strategic Resource Options for clients across the UK and internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Project and programme management, including resources, budgets and coordination with other disciplines.
  • Collaborate with technical specialists to ensure appropriate expertise on projects.
  • Identify and pursue work‑winning opportunities, liaising with Framework Managers and Client Directors.
  • Manage tenders in line with business procedures.
  • Maintain and develop client relationships, strengthening AtkinsRéalis reputation and driving future opportunities.

Qualifications / About You

  • Experience in the UK water industry and demonstrated leadership on water‑resource projects.
  • Client‑facing experience, comfortable leading projects and managing day‑to‑day client relationships.
  • Strong relationship‑building skills with clear understanding of client needs and work‑winning initiatives.
  • Ability to run multiple projects simultaneously, overseeing project management and contract administration across the life cycle, including finance and reporting.
  • Familiarity with project governance procedures and business policies.
  • Risk‑management skills through the project life cycle, including change‑control negotiations.
  • Excellent communication skills for technical discussions with colleagues and clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to clarify requirements, scope, programme, costs, constraints, risk and interfaces.
  • Strong written and verbal communication (English) and multitasking priorities.
  • Relevant degree or vocational qualification in environmental science or engineering.
  • Chartered status with ICE or CIWEM advantageous.
