Location:SCB London

As Senior Product Designer, you will be responsible for Standard Chartered’s electronic trading platform’s UX design efforts; this means you’ll be tasked with creating flows that meet the goals of our Financial Markets business. You will have experience designing products in domains such asFX cash, FX Algo, FX options, commodities, FMRP, rates, and credit.

You will internalise complex information aboutproductsand services to make them understandable to real humans like you and us. Since this role is fully focused on solving problems for users and business alike, it requires empathy and business understanding in equal parts.

What will you do

  • You’ll create the vision for a standout user experience across all Financial Market products & services and drive its realisation with the larger design team, business, and technology.
  • You create prototypes using our design system to express user journeys and use these prototypes to help align with your business and technology partners.
  • You will be a close and trusted partner to the product owner and business owner to understand their needs, goals and what makes a difference to them. You will use your knowledge and skill to help them define and refine problem statements.
  • You frequently engage with our research, analytics, and value capture teams to understand pain points and opportunities to improve the experience, as well as drive your research activities.
  • You will use your systems-driven mindset and ability to be hands-on to evangelise the significance of user experience and design system thinking/application.
  • You will play a part in helping to progress SC’s design system.

What we would like you to bring

  • Experience driving projects from initiation to delivery, defining the business value gained with the program and utilising this with stakeholders for buy-in.
  • At least 8 years of experience in producingrich interactive experiences in the corporate and financial markets space.
  • Great at communication and collaboration, able to work effectively with remote teams and bring people together in meaningful ways to solve design challenges.
  • Basic understanding ofengineering principles, able to communicate and collaborate with engineering teams who will be building the front end you and your teamdesigntogether. Ability to prototype withHTML, CSS, and JavaScriptis a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts, Business, Communications, Human Computer Interaction, Information Design, Interaction Design, Psychology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Enthusiasm for tackling the large cultural shift necessary to establish a design practice.
  • You can be strategic one moment and a detail-obsessed designer the next.
  • You have an understanding of psychology and behavioural science.
  • You also understand global diversity and the ability to advise on solutions that suit all.
  • You have the ability and desire to continually challenge yourself and others with an entrepreneurial attitude and a passion for observing human behavior, identifying team biases, and surfacing these with grit.
  • You can guide business partners and evangelise a mindset for good experience and user-centricity.
  • You work smart, are flexible, and skilled in establishing practical processes.
  • You love to take ownership, see your projects through to launch, and keep an eye on them afterwards, always on the lookout for improvement.
