Imagine contributing to innovations that touch millions of lives – ready to make that a reality?We have an exciting opportunity for aSenior Project Accountantto join our team in theEast Midlands (Ashby de la Zouch/Birmingham)!Reporting to the Finance Lead of High Speed 2 Projects, you will play a key role within the project finance team, supporting the delivery of one of the UK’s largest ever infrastructure projects.In this role you will be responsible for the overall project accounting management of several high profile HS2 projects, enabling effective cost control and ensuring the provision of key management information to the project team.The successful candidate will have several monthly touchpoints with the end customer to review Applications for Payments, forecast data, and project Key Performance Indicators.This role supports hybrid working with 2 days in the office per week, primarily Ashby de la Zouch/Birmingham sites.You’ll make an impact byOverall responsibility all Project Accounting topics, including correct cost booking, as well as budget and forecast cost controlling analysis on a monthly basisOverall responsibility for the monthly closing of the project booksCreation of and meetings with end customer to review: Applications for Payments, project forecast data, and project Key Performance Indicators.End to end customer invoice/billing managementPrepare financial reporting to support decision making and Commercial Manager requirementsMaintain good customer relationship; calculating, agreeing and negotiating the additional charges and penalties each monthActively participate in business process improvement and the digitalisation of processesAct with integrity in a supporting role to the wider operational depot teamEnsure awareness and exhibit behaviours in accordance with Siemens compliance policiesBuild effective relationships with Managers, Heads of Functions and Directors, helping them understand performance and cost driversCommunicate financial information clearly and confidently, tailoring your approach to different audiencesYour success will be grounded byQualified CIMA or ACCAPrior experience in a financial/accounting roleProven accounting skills with ability to demonstrate an understanding and interpretation of key financial statements.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Self-disciplined with strong time management ability.Diligent with good attention to detail.Demonstrates initiative with flexible and proactive approach to work.Willingness to learn and develop.Good working knowledge of SAP desirable.At Siemens, we believe that work should work for you.
