Senior Project Manager
Hybrid - 2 days per week in Romsey / Gloucester or Woking
Up to £100K per annum

We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex hardware and technology projects within the defence sector. This role is critical in shaping and delivering innovative solutions that meet customer requirements while ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and delivery of compelling, competitive bids in collaboration with account and technical teams.
Manage end-to-end project delivery, from concept through to completion, ensuring alignment with contractual, cost, and quality expectations.
Provide governance, assurance, and challenge across project teams to ensure successful milestone achievement.
Oversee planning and execution of trials, demonstrations, and key customer events.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and partners.
Manage project financials, including forecasting revenue, cash flow, and profitability.
Lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams, setting clear objectives and driving high performance.
Develop and maintain robust project plans, managing dependencies, assumptions, and requirements.
Identify, assess, and manage risks and opportunities, ensuring appropriate mitigation and escalation.
Ensure all project documentation and artefacts meet quality and compliance standards.
Support business growth by identifying and contributing to new opportunities with account teams.
Person Specification
Skills & Experience
Professional Project Management certification (APMP, PMP, or equivalent).
Proven track record delivering complex hardware and/or software projects (up to £5m) across the full lifecycle.
Strong experience in bid management and pre-sales activity within a defence or highly regulated environment.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.
Demonstrable experience producing business cases, assurance plans, cost models, and governance frameworks.
Solid financial and commercial acumen, including forecasting and performance reporting.
Experience in rapid prototyping and accelerated development environments (e.g., urgent operational requirements).
Strong understanding of technology trends and their application in defence solutions.
Ability to manage complexity, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
Experience working with the UK Ministry of Defence and/or Tier 1 defence primes is highly desirable.If this Senior Project Manager role is of interest apply now
