Senior Project Manager – Major Infrastructure Project (Scotland)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager (Civil Engineering) to lead the successful delivery of a major energy infrastructure project in the North West of Scotland. This is a permanent opportunity to play a key role in a high-profile development that will contribute to the UK’s evolving energy landscape.

The Role

As Senior Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for the planning, execution, and delivery of a large-scale transmission project, ensuring it is completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role requires a strong civil engineering background, with responsibility for overseeing significant earthworks, structures, and associated infrastructure. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage key stakeholders, and oversee all phases from pre-construction through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project delivery across a complex civil engineering infrastructure programme
• Oversee construction activities including earthworks, drainage, access, and structural elements
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies
• Coordinate internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
• Provide regular reporting and performance updates to senior leadership
• Drive continuous improvement and best practice across project delivery

About You

• Essential: Strong background in civil engineering, with demonstrable experience on major infrastructure projects
• Proven track record delivering large-scale projects
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent commercial awareness and contract management experience
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment
• Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering (degree or equivalent)
