Senior Project Manager

Location: Hybrid with periodic travel to Swindon and London offices (Onshore) Duration: 01/06/2026 to 01/06/2027 Rotation: Monday-Friday Type: Freelance Outside IR35

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of a world leading offshore windfarm for RWE Renewables UK.

The role sits on the Project Leadership Team (PLT) and currently reports into the [Development] Project Lead, and comprises assuming overall responsibility for leading a large, multi-discipline project team progressing preparatory works incl. Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) management, engineering, procurement, and project management required to ensure that the project is ready to commence the Construction Phase at the time of taking Final Investment Decision (FID). The project team will also be required to provide support in the form of technical and commercial input to the preparation of business cases, and value optimisation activities required to take FID.

What we are looking for

• Experienced leaders who have successfully managed large, multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural project teams and built local project management capability • Demonstrable commitment in the form of a track record of delivering projects in full compliance with International and Local regulations and to the highest standards of Health, Safety and Environmental management. This would include experience managing the health and safety of a project team, compliance with and implementing the Construction (Design and Management) (CDM) Regulations 2015, and planning and implementing effective contractor HSE performance management. • Experience of providing assurance that the windfarm can be constructed without harm to people or the environment and in a fashion that the quality and technical performance requirements can be satisfied within the cost and schedule targets that formed the Final Investment Decision • Ability to define, establish and maintain a project delivery capability comprising people, processes and systems that safely and efficiently delivers the project throughout its lifecycle • Previous responsibility for ensuring that all the construction contracts and support contracts are managed effectively and deliver as per the project plan • Proven ability to coordinate cross-disciplinary activities between subprojects, e.g. in the fields of permit, commerce, finance, site and operations • An understanding of common technical, commercial and stakeholder risks of performing offshore construction activities • Experience of applying techniques to influence others to deliver results

You will have

• Qualifications to degree level in an engineering discipline or equivalent science/numerate qualification • Membership of a project management professional body and/or accreditation would be advantageous • At least 10 years of experience of safely delivering complex offshore construction projects, preferably involving HV electrical systems and wind turbines to quality, schedule and cost expectations • Experience of successfully representing your company in engagements with a wide range of key stakeholders
