Senior Project Manager for a Major High-Rise Development

About the role:

A global consultancy is seeking a skilled and driven Senior Project Manager to join one of the most well-respected global construction consultancies, supporting a landmark high-rise commercial development worth over £150 million in the city.

Key responsibilities:

Lead day-to-day project management on behalf of the consultancy. Lead and coordinate all phases of the project, from feasibility and planning through to construction and final handover. Represent the consultancy as the key client interface, providing strategic direction and leadership. Oversee detailed project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation. Manage procurement strategy, tender processes, and contract negotiations. Monitor contractor performance, ensuring compliance with specifications, programme, and quality standards. Chair regular site and progress meetings with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders. Implement robust risk, issue, and change management processes. Ensure all works comply with statutory requirements, health & safety legislation, and sustainability targets. Track project finances, produce cost reports, and ensure budgetary control. Drive stakeholder engagement, managing expectations and ensuring transparent communication throughout. Prepare and deliver high-quality progress reports to senior management and the client. Anticipate potential challenges and implement proactive solutions to maintain project momentum.

Requirements:

Proven track record on large-scale commercial or high-rise developments. Consultancy background with strong client-facing leadership skills. Expert knowledge of UK construction contracts, procurement, and regulatory frameworks. RICS, CIOB, or equivalent professional status .
