Catalyst is delighted to be once more supporting a key client in the electrification technology sector in their recruitment of a Senior Projects & Systems Manager to be based from their Tyneside HQ. My client is a global leader in their field and is undergoing an exciting period of change.
Reporting to the Engineering Director, the Senior Projects & Systems Manager will be responsible for the day to day management and leadership of a multidisciplinary team including project, systems and configuration engineering professionals. You will also be tasked with the management, leadership and development of projects for new products and reengineering of the existing product range.
Main Responsibilities
Planning, scheduling, and execution of all phases of product development from design through to production release. Works with staff engineers to write engineering specifications for products, ensure customer requirements are captured, designed to and verified
Plan, organize, lead, and track the design and release of motor, system control and support products.
Interface directly with customers, sales and product management to define and develop products.
Estimate cost and schedule for work to be performed, and ensure that work is completed within the estimated cost and schedule.
Conduct status and design reviews on a regular basis and provide project status reports to management.
Supervise the efforts of the design engineer(s) assigned to the project.
Guide the project through all phases of the corporate PDS.
Maintain records and documentation using laboratory notebooks and internal computer networks.
Assist test engineering in the initial specification of equipment and procedures for production testing.
Assist manufacturing and test in the resolution of design related problems that arise during production.
All other duties as assigned.
About You
To be considered for the role, it is essential that you are a degree educated, experienced project AND systems engineering management professional, with experience gained in the electronics, power electronics, electromechanical, mechatronics, automation or electrification sectors.
Key Selection Criteria
Demonstrable project leadership experience ideally within power electronic and/or embedded control products.
Demonstrable general/operations management skills.
Demonstrableunderstanding of electronics, software development and mechanical design.
Demonstrable knowledge of good engineering practice and experience of following Product Development Cycles, V-models.
DemonstrableExperience of working directly with OEM EV manufacturers.
Effective verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
Accuracy and good organizational skills.
