Employment Type: Full-time

Working Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Salary Range: £38,000 – £42,000 per annum


Location: On-Stite, Canary Wharf – London

Reports to: Quality & Governance Manager



Job Purpose

The Senior Quality and Governance Officer (SQGO) plays a central role in supporting Victoria College of Arts and Design (VCAD)’s academic standards, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance processes. A key focus of this role is leading and coordinating the end-to-end Office for Students (OfS) registration application, including evidence collation, drafting, policy review, governance alignment, and ongoing compliance once registration is achieved.


The role also supports internal governance structures, providing high‑quality advice, documentation, monitoring, and reporting to enable the provider to meet its statutory, regulatory, and academic obligations.



Key Responsibilities

Office for Students (OfS) Registration:

  • Support Quality & Governance Manager in the end‑to‑end delivery of the provider’s OfS registration application (initial, renewal, or ongoing conditions).
  • Manage timelines, project plans, and internal workstreams related to the application.
  • Draft OfS submission documents, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with regulatory expectations.
  • Coordinate the collection and validation of evidence required for the OfS Conditions of Registration.
  • Monitor, analyse, and interpret OfS regulatory updates, advising senior leadership.
  • Liaise with external advisors and legal experts.
  • Prepare briefing papers and updates for senior leadership.
  • Maintain documentation, version control, and audit trails


Quality Assurance:

  • Support development, review, and implementation of all policies.
  • Manage cyclical QA processes including programme approval and annual monitoring.
  • Support internal audits.
  • Maintain records for external quality bodies.
  • Assist in preparing datasets for quality monitoring.


Governance:

  • Provide secretariat support to committees.
  • Ensure effective governance reporting lines.
  • Support policy development cycles.
  • Maintain registers (risk, policy, committee).
  • Support preparations for external reviews.


Data, Reporting and Compliance:

  • Support regulatory returns and CMA compliance where applicable.
  • Support data assurance processes.
  • Support in producing compliance monitoring reports where applicable.


Student Voice & Representation:

  • Support student voice in QA and governance.
  • Analyse student feedback and enhancement initiatives.
  • Contribute to EDI considerations.
  • Train and support student reps where necessary.



Person Specification Requirements

Essential:

  • Experience in quality/regulatory compliance in UK HE.
  • Understanding of OfS Conditions of Registration.
  • Excellent written communication.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Ability to interpret data and guidance.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently.


Desirable:

  • Experience in OfS successful registration applications.
  • Experience in governance.
  • Knowledge of QAA, CMA, and data returns.
  • Experience with student experience, safeguarding, or risk.
