We’re hiring a Senior Quantity Surveyor with strong NEC4 experience to own commercial performance across a portfolio of civils projects. You’ll lead the full lifecycle, from early cost planning to final account driving value, governance and cash flow.
This is a hybrid role with a mix of site, office and home working.
What you’ll do
Prepare, review and update cost plans, estimates and budgets.
Manage the end-to-end commercial process from enquiry through to final account close-out.
Produce accurate monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) with clear commentary.
Implement cost control measures to optimise expenditure and enhance profitability.
Oversee contract documentation (BoQs, scopes, take-offs) and maintain robust records.
Lead NEC4 contract administration: EWNs, CEs, quotations, applications, pay-less notices and audits.
Drive cash flow through timely valuations, applications and responses.
Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
Mentor and support junior/intermediate QSs; foster a collaborative, high-performing culture.What you’ll bring
Degree in Quantity Surveying (or related discipline).
Proven experience in civil engineering (e.g., highways, structures, public realm, remediation or maintenance).
NEC4 proficiency (e.g., Options A/C; ECC/PSC) with hands-on admin experience.
Strong grasp of construction methods, materials and regulations.
Excellent analytical skills, CVR/forecasting confidence and attention to detail.
Proficient in QS tools and Microsoft Office (Excel essential).
Clear, professional communication and a collaborative approach.
Desirable: Exposure to structures/bridge repair environments and multi-stakeholder interfaces.Benefits
