Job Description
A leading multidisciplinary construction consultancy with over 200 employees and offices in London, Manchester and Birmingham are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Birmingham team\n\nProviding a full suite of services including Architecture, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying and Project Management, this is an opportunity to join a business who has a respected name within the industry.\n\nYou’ll be involved in a wide range of projects across sectors particularly residential and education with commercial, regeneration and blue light services.\n\nThe role of the Senior Quantity Surveyor\n\n * Leading client engagement, presenting schemes and managing project timelines.\n\n * Acting as Contract Administrator or Employer’s Agent.\n\n * Appointing and overseeing the performance of the professional team.\n\n * Preparing feasibility reports, contract documents and budget estimates.\n\n * Managing schemes, tendering procedures and contract arrangements.\n\n * Advising clients on market conditions and procurement strategies.\n\n * Preparing interim payment recommendations, final accounts and variation adjustments.\n\n * Participating in project meetings and driving successful delivery.\n\nRequirements of the Senior Quantity Surveyor\n\n * Extensive consultancy experience, particularly in the residential sector (experience in education and other sectors is a plus).\n\n * Experience pre and post contract, cost planning at all RIBA stages.\n\n * Strong understanding of JCT contracts (NEC or other forms beneficial).\n\n * Proven experience across the full project lifecycle, both pre- and post-contract.\n\n * Ideally chartered (e.g. MRICS) or working towards chartership.\n\n * Relevant academic qualifications (e.g. BSc in Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, or Project Management).\n\n * Excellent client-facing skills and a collaborative approach.\n\n * 7 years+ industry experience.\n\n * Strong cost planning and procurement expertise.\n\n * Ability to negotiate contracts and act as Employer’s Agent.\n\nRemuneration\n\n * Up to £70,000 per annum\n\n * Flexible working hours\n\n * Hybrid working (potential to work from office and home)\n\n * Medicash health plan (money back on your dental, optical, physio appointments and more)\n\n * Life assurance cover (four times annual salary) for all colleagues.\n\n * In-house mental health first aiders\n\n * Pay reviews twice a year\n\n * Annual leave + bank holidays\n\n * Birthday leave\n\n * Pay reviews twice a year\n\n * Scottish Widows pension and salary sacrifice (4.5% contribution matched)\n\n * Car allowance\n\nIf you are a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Project Manager considering your career options, please contact Damian Eatwell @ ReWork Recruitment
