Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Beckton, East London (Flexible Hybrid)
Work Type: Contract
Join a leading UK infrastructure and water‑sector delivery partner within their Commercial team. Reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a key role in major projects while leading commercial management, cost control, and contractual oversight across assigned works.
Key Responsibilities
Manage quantity surveying duties across projects and work packages.
Liaise with design, construction, and supply chain teams to capture, analyse, and manage costs.
Work collaboratively with the client to ensure commercial and project requirements are met.
Oversee the main contract, ensuring all contractual notices and correspondence are identified and issued correctly.
Prepare and issue subcontract documentation.
Support in managing and monitoring subcontractor performance.
Prepare and agree applications for payment.
Produce accurate project cost and value reports, budgets, and financial forecasts.
Assist in developing and mentoring junior commercial team members.
Maintain continuous professional development through industry networking and awareness of sector innovation.
Foster a positive, solution‑focused working environment and provide constructive feedback.
Carry out additional duties as reasonably required and consistent with the seniority of the post.
Present a professional and positive image in all internal and external interactions.
What We’re Looking For
Experience in a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor role within construction, infrastructure, water, or similar sectors.
Strong understanding of contract management and commercial processes.
Ability to analyse data, manage costs, and deliver accurate reporting.
Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder and supply‑chain management skills.
Proactive, collaborative, and committed to continuous improvement.
