Job Description

Senior Quantity Surveyor – Special Works Division - Main Contractor\n\nLocation: Central London\n\nSalary: £85,000 – £95,000 + Benefits\n\nReporting to: Commercial Director\n\nAbout the Division\n\nThe Special Works division is dedicated to delivering exceptional construction solutions for clients who value precision and outstanding customer service. They specialise in refurbishment and fit-out projects, typically ranging from £10k to £4m, with the flexibility to take on selected larger schemes.\n\nOperating across commercial, residential, retail, education, and hospitality sectors, they often work within occupied environments, requiring innovative, considerate approaches to ensure minimal disruption and maintain business continuity. Every project is delivered with meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality.\n\nThe Role\n\nThis is a hands-on, cradle-to-grave commercial role where you will be involved in every stage of the project lifecycle—from work-winning and bid preparation through to delivery and final account.

You will work closely with a highly engaged leadership team and play a key role in shaping the future of the division.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nFull commercial management of projects (typically £1.5m, up to £5m).\n\t\nPrepare proposals, bids, and project specifications.\n\t\nCollaborate with directors and project teams on scope, risk, and delivery.\n\t\nMonitor subcontractor performance and ensure quality standards.\n\t\nMentor and develop future talent as the team expands.\n\t\nContribute to strategic growth and succession planning.\n\nAbout You\n\nExperienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong track record in high-quality fit-out or refurbishment projects.\n\t\nComfortable managing projects independently without assistants.\n\t\nExcellent commercial and risk management skills.\n\t\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to delivering exceptional results.\n\t\nAmbitious, with a clear path to Commercial Director as part of succession planning.\n\nOur Work\n\nWe deliver negotiated and two-stage projects across four key sectors:\n\nHigh-End Residential (50% of workload)\n\t\nLeisure\n\t\nRetail\n\t\nEducation & Commercial\n\nWhy Join\n\nDirect reporting line to the Commercial Director.\n\t\nOpportunity to build and lead a team around you.\n\t\nClear progression to Commercial Director as the business grows.\n\t\nHigh level of autonomy and involvement in strategic decisions.\n\t\nWork with a leadership team that is actively engaged in projects.\n\nIf you're interested in this role, please send a copy of your CV and project list to (url removed), then we can set up a confidential chat
