Senior Quantity Surveyor
Overview and Main Responsibilities
The role is responsible to ensure our business gets the best possible service and value from our supplier network, as well as ensuring all service providers are compliant and continue to meet contractual obligations and business needs. You will focus on providing the necessary pre and post contract and commercial support on a range of one off and programmes of work. You will be able to combine strong commercial acumen with well-developed interpersonal, problem-solving, communication and negotiation skills with demonstrable experience to support the business.

Role Responsibilities
• Client and supply chain contractual management
• Identifying risks, opportunities and any required actions
• Management of early warning notices and compensation events, prepare and track project variations
• Management contractual and certification of supply chain
• Oversee and involvement in site operational processes such as measure, compensation event identification, cost base management
• Maintain sustainable and productive relationships with existing clients
• Manage contract negotiations with a focus on negotiations, discrepancies, compensation events, potential penalties and contractual rates increases.
• Assess risks involved with new initiatives, ensure deadlines are met and provide solutions
• Analysing projects, e.g. impact on timing, revenue and gross profit of changes to supply chain and client rates
• Management and reporting of project prelims
• Supporting the tender and estimating team as and when required, to develop accurate and consistent bids with the help of relevant departments
• Advise on the Commercial and Contractual viability of potential new Projects
• Mentor and support QS teams members working alongside with Ops Manager to ensure the fluid collaboration and support.
Oversee and ensure correct compliance and process for subcontractors onboarding, subcontractors review and subcontractors payment process ensuring all BU works under the same procedure from instructing work up to final payment
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience
• BSc/BEng in Quantity Surveying • Excellent commercial acumen and contract management skills
• Excellent knowledge of contractual agreements and law
• Min 5 years experience in a similar role at a similar level
• Ability to communicate at all levels
• Contract drafting and writing skills
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Competent on Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Competent in understanding project programme Systems (ie Microsoft project) and the commercial impact of changes
• Ability to work on own initiative and act independently whilst being able to work successfully as part of a team
• Able to work to deadlines
• Full driving licence
