Senior Quantity Surveyor
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage cost control, commercial and contractual aspects from initial tender through to final account.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of various high-profile projects whilst working for a supportive, family-run business. The role is a great mix of site-based commercial work, contributing to project bids, and tendering.
Salary: Between £70,000 and £100,000 depending on experience
Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00 - 17:30 (1 hour lunch break)
Location: Harlow, on site
Key Responsibilities
Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of multiple construction projects, ensuring compliance, profitability and timely delivery.
Manage risks, negotiate contract terms and prepare cost forecasts, valuations and reports.
Submit and prepare payment applications, cash flow forecasts and CVRs.
Manage procurement, accounts, payments and variations, ensuring compliance.
Support and lead junior surveyors with a focus on professional development.
Maintain and build strong relationships with clients, suppliers and other stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, quality standards, health and safety, sustainability and company policies.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
Strong understanding of UK construction contracts (JCT).
Ability to manage multiple projects and complex and contractual matters simultaneously.
Commercially focused with strong attention to detail and excellent negotiation skills.
Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships.
Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capability.
