The Project \n\nAs an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be playing a crucial role in overseeing various rail and civils schemes. You will be responsible for managing project costs effectively, optimising value for money, and ensuring the financial success.\n\nRequirements \n\nFor this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;\n\nDegree in Quantity Surveying or similar fieldIt is also essential that you hold the experience below;\n\nHistory of delivering Rail & civils projects\nExtensive background, 5 years minimum with a proven track record of success on civils projects with a proven major main contractor or subcontractorAdditional skills;\n\nIT skills\nEffective time management\nSuperb negotiation capabilities\nAnalytical and Mathematical skills\nExcellent sales and presentation skills\nAbility to multitask and prioritise projects\nStrong communication and attention to details\nUnderstanding of construction laws and regulations\nThe ability to accurately estimate the costs associated with the project\nA solid understanding of construction materials, methods, and techniques \n\nThe Role\n\nJob Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor\nJob Type: Permanent\nLocation: Yorkshire\nReporting to: Commercial Director \n\nDuties\n\nProcurement\nEvaluation of tender allowances\nCreating material reconciliations\nReporting to Commercial Director\nCarefully overseeing site operations\nSupervising and monitoring measures\nManagement and optimisation of cash flow\nDrafting and submitting material delivery sheets\nMaintain sustainable and productive relationships with existing clients\nDevelop accurate and consistent bids with the help of relevant departments\nCollaborate closely with subcontractors to verify precise costs and payments\nParticipate in the recording of delays & preparation of any request for extensions of time\nPreparation and administration of procurement advice, tenders, tender reviews and advice\nGenerate/maintain relevant records, accurate filing and support for all commercial functions\nEnsure deadlines are actively managed and progress is reported to supervisors as required\nOffer tender analysis to relevant stakeholders for approval of proposed subcontractors before initiating ordersThis is a permanent position with an excellent salary on offer for the successful candidate.
